Iconography & Meaning

Our icon is the primary expression of our brand. It has been crafted with intention to reflect our core values as described below.

  • Journey & Player Growth

The lines represent the paths of the players coming through the club. No matter the length of the journey, each individual is supported to grow as a person and as a player. From left to right the lines show this growth, leaving the circle at a higher level than when they entered.

  • The Weave

Our emblem depicts many harakeke woven together, each strand intertwining to create something that can stand strong and supported. The strands represent all people involved, no one person more important than another, and each individual supporting the next.

  • Energy

Each line has a flat end and one that folds into the weave. This sense of connection and bond created on and off the pitch, by a collective energy and the impact the club has on individuals. The culture and buzz of the club inspires people and draws them in; the dynamic movement of people working in unison shapes who we are.

  • Rotorua Lakes

The lines can also be considered to represent the streams of water that flow in and out of the many lakes around Rotorua, and the circular shape is a nod to our natural iconic playgrounds. Our bold and modern club colour of teal is a take on the many hues found in springs, rivers, streams and lakes across the region.

  • Unity

The icon has two sides the represent balance and unity throughout the club. These two sides complement each other and speak to diversity, inclusiveness and coming together as one.

  • Mudpool Ripples

The six lines within the centre of the icon speak to the ripples of Rotorua's iconic bubbling mudpools. We are proud to be uniquely Rotorua and want the club's positive effect to ripple through our wider community.

Our colour palette is minimal, modern and fun. Due to having different age ranges throughout the club we created a flexible colour palette with a range of colours that can work nicely when paired with each other.
