Volunteer Positions

Coaching and leadership opportunities in the men's space

Are you interested in coaching, or player-coaching, one of our Mens Bay teams next season? We are always on the look-out for people with a passion for coaching and developing players. If this is you, please reach out as we'd love to hear from you! These environments have a brilliant support network within, so it's a great place to get your coaching underway or further develop yourself and your coaching skills.

Specifically, we are on the look-out for the following:

  • Southern Conference and Under-23 Premier Team Co-ordinator - includes administration of team sheets / results, supporting team organisation, transport logistics, etc

  • Bay League Coaches x 3 (likely Bay 1, Bay 2, Over 35s - TBC)

  • Bay League Co-ordinators x 3 (likely Bay 1, Bay 2, Over 35s - TBC)

Email office@lakesfc.co.nz if interested.

Committee and Sub-Committee Support

We are always in need of people to help on both the main Committee and our various sub-committees (Junior, Youth, Girls, Senior, Futsal, etc). If you’re keen to help, drop us a line at office@lakesfc.co.nz and we’ll have a chat!.

Specifically, at this time we are really keen on support in the following areas:

  • Legal / Contract Support - we have several new agreements needed this season, and we’re exploring legal services - but if there are any club-affiliated lawyers / experts out there who would be willing to help on a volunteer or discounted basis, we’d certainly appreciate the support!

  • Youth Coaches (3+ people needed) - we are especially in need of coaches in the Community Youth space. No special qualifications needed, just an interest and a passion.

  • Youth Co-ordinators (3-5 people needed) - we could use some more support in the co-ordination and administration of teams and competitions. This includes things like arranging practices, travel for games (where applicable), supporting teams and players in seeking sponsorship. Basically a great opportunity to help our teams have a great season, even if you don’t know much about football itself!

  • Senior Football Lead / Committee Liaison (1-2 people) - this role sits across the Senior space, and would provide oversight and support for the coaching and co-ordination teams in this space. It’s unlikely to be a massive time commitment, but is the ‘point person’ for Senior Football and would suit someone already involved in this space

  • Social Club & Event Volunteers (5-10+ people needed) - we have a passionate group of people at the club with experience running events, fundraisers, and things like BBQ Duty Days. However we always need more hands to help with this sort of thing. No specific skills required, just a willingness to help. This one is super-rewarding as you get to see the results come together before you in a supportive team environment.

  • Brand and Marketing Support (2-3 people needed) - Lakes FC has a great brand and really strong community support, but as a volunteer organisation we aren’t always able to leverage this to full effect. If you have experience in branding, marketing or promotion, we would love some support in creating a more holistic marketing and brand plan and strategy (we can provide some support for the execution of the plan).
